Battle of Helmstedt - Move 4

1100-1200

24 July 1813

Table at the start of Move 4

First - 4th Prussian – 5CP

Cuirassier brigade ordered to retire out of artillery range

16 brigade ordered to advance and form square to protect gunners

15 brigade enters east Helmstedt

Shaken cavalry test morale, rally now disordered

Second - VI French – 5CP

Artillery fire on landwehr square but miss

Marmont moves within command range of Helmstedt

24 brigade ordered to skirmish with Prussian infantry entering the town

24 brigade skirmish but inflict no casualties

Prussian infantry skirmish back, cause one casualty

24 brigade test morale for casualties, fail and rout.

Third - French CinC – 6CP

Davout moves to farm takes command of 21 brigade

21 brigade moves out of farm and forms as column of march

21 brigade moves towards centre

Fourth - Poor Card

Rule Note

The commander in chief can take personal command of one brigade each move

He may not then issue any orders other than to that brigade

Each brigade can only move once per move
